Just joined
by Gojira_101 inthis is my first time posting on here.
i've been inactive for 3 months now and my husband and i are going the fading way.
i was born and raised in this religion and now after almost 30 years, they have taken most everything from me.

Quentin (from JW-net) is dying
by Terry inquentin robburts has been on jw-net off and on for over 6 years and he is one of my oldest and most loyal friends.. his wife called me awhile ago and gave me the news.. quentin was rushed to the hospital's emergency room with acute renal failure and congestive heart failure.. .
this does not surprise me for the following reason.
his pain doctor put him on oxycontin last thursday.

Wow, I seem to have made it out alright..
by GoodGuyGreg inhi, new member here, but i've lurked for a while.. for obvious reasons, i won't give too many details about myself, but i thought i'd share my story of what might in the end have been the easiest fade in recorded history.
it's going to be a wall of text, and i'm writing it mostly for myself to get it out of my system, but it is, of course, a pretty open forum, so any comments and most questions are welcome.. here goes:.
what made me realize ttatt was legalism.

Good for you! Just Ron and I really didn't experience any negative fallout when we quit going either. I chalked it up to not having any family in the borg, and not having been pioneers/ms/elders.

Did You Give Much $$$ To The Kingdom Hall And/Or Watchtower Society?
by minimus ini typically gave $$$ to the local kh and seldom gave donations to the society.. i always am amazed how some church going people have very little materially, yet make sure the church and the pastors are well taken care of..

Moshe, if a big Dallas Texas semi-trailer truck fails to see you in that, you will be flatter than a pancake.
LOL - I think the semi wins pretty much every time, no matter what you are driving

How many went from christian to something else?
by Satanus ini noticed some posters who used to argue along christian lines, but don't do so, anymore.
granted, it's a tough line to keep to on this forum.
i would be interested to hear (read) of people who came here as believers, and then transitioned to unbeliever, and the reasons for that.

I started out Methodist, converted to JW, escaped and am now agnostic with atheist leanings.

No Moshe, that's the truck and camper we currently own LOL. We don't move the camper very often, it mostly lives at the campground. We keep the truck at home, because yu\ou never know when you're gonna need a truck.
